It's Meeeeeeeee

Yes, I'm back, still alive and kicking! Ready for all that 2012 has to offer! Its been far too long but armed with a brand new camera and tripod I hope to get this blog back on the road to recovery.  Thanks to all who still pass by my little space in this world, it is much appreciated, don't be afraid to say hi.

So I am now girlfriend to "Ex Marine", before we start jumping around like giddy school girls screaming its early days still (6 months) which is really 3 months if you factor in my un-sociable work hours. He is lovely, treats me well always wants to pay for everything, plus my mum likes him (always a bonus) my issue is that he is not an open person. I am a big talker of things, if something pisses me off or someone upsets me I like to deal with it by talking about it, but him on the other hand is the complete opposite and doesn't deal with it, instead it festers or he just goes out and gets plastered (plastered is not a regular occurrence) either way its foreign to me. Because he is such an onion i am giving him some time to open up a little more, we shall see how it goes.

I still have my shitty job that controls my life (but pays well lol) I still live with two fabulous ladies. Right now I am content in life which is great considering I am 30 this year!
I did a big clear out of my wardrobe the other day and had a bin bag full to the brim of un-wanted items. These things have been passed on to charities (waste not want not) All i am doing is clearing space for more never to be warm garments lol

Here are two more garments currently waiting on delivery from the wonderful world of Asos
Pencil skirt in Yokopop print

Pencil skirt in Brushstroke print
I am in love with these skirts, they are soo funky! I think I can make it work.  I've never been a fan of yellow but I am making an exception. In terms of style I don't have a particular style I just like what I like. I am trying to find more clothes that will stand the test of time style wise, hopefully things that won't bore me after 2 wears. I am digging the pencil skirt at the moment I love how feminine it makes you feel, how sexy you become, i love how it hugs all the right places. The pencil skirt is my secret weapon for 2012. What's yours?? xoxo

OOTD Tribal Skirt

Last night me and the girls went to see No Strings Attached as we were bored sitting in the house, i decided to wear my new boots, so i put on my tribal skirt and denim shirt. I loved the movement and how comfortable i felt in it as i stuffed my face with Ben & Jerry's ice cream!
I found this ring when i was clearing out my room the other day, it was a gift from my aunt a few years ago.  I thought it would tie in well with my tribal theme.

Is it me or does anyone else wear leggings as tights? I love the thickness of leggings sometimes i can't achieve that same look with opaque tights!
The film was ok, it was nice going to the cinema, it's been such a long time i forgot how expensive it can be!
Some magazine recommended the film as a good date movie, i have to disagree, with the sexual scenes i would feel a little uncomfortable watching with a potential lover, especially if  i don't like the guy! What do you think? xoxo

OOTD No Bra at the Wedding

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I went to my first ever Turkish wedding on Saturday! It was the best wedding I've been to so far (trust me it's not many)
It was also the first time I've ever left the house without a bra! Being able to leave the house bra less is something I've always dreamed of but never done because it tends to be impossible when you wear a 38 JJ. I purchased this dress a while back from Asos and have never had the opportunity to wear it as it was a special occasion dress, the club to me is not a special occasion! So since i was invited to a wedding i thought it the perfect time to christen it. When i first tried it on I'm sure i did so with a bra, this time i tried it again just to make sure it could still fit. Me and my housemate were debating outfits and i just dragged the dress on without the bra and to my surprise because of the boning in the dress i felt quite secure, i was assured that i didn't look like i was gonna have a Janet Jackson moment so i thought it safe enough to leave the bra.

As the night progressed i started to feel conscious that my boobs were about to fall out, after a few trips to the toilet my mind was put at rest, i did carry my bra just in case i embarrassed myself but I'm glad to say the bra stayed under wraps!
The venue was beautiful and everyone dressed to impress, my favourite part had to be when people pin money on the bride and groom! I would have a Turkish wedding just for that alone!
Now time to bore you with the pictures....

I loved all the lighting, as you can tell!

It was nice seeing a young couple have a very traditional wedding! Top marks for organisation! What would be your ideal wedding? xoxo

Casual OOTD Post

Jacket-Asos
Top-Dorothy Perkins
Skirted Leggings-Asos
Boots-Ann Harvey

Well as you can see I am still learning to like taking pics, not quite there yet! If i have to suffer through them you better appreiciate them lol
Today was just a casual day which is how i am 80% of the time when i'm not in my uniform, maybe one day i'll amuse you all with a photo of me in my work attire!
My favourite element in this outfit is my cheat top, i call it a cheat because its a top and necklace in one, definately a win win!
Taken just outside the front of my house, since the sun was out for once i thought a change of scenery would be nice, i did get a little camera shy when people walked by, i guess thats something i'll get over in time. Well its nearly the end of the week people, whats your plan for the weekend? I'm going to pretend that Valentines Day dos not exist! I'll let you know how that works out for me! xoxo

Saturday Night's Alright with Steve Harvey

It's been awhile since i have had a weekend to myself to do nothing! And let me tell you it feel soo good, sometimes i think I'm getting old before my time. In between bad TV i have been drooling over clothes i can't afford right now! (i need to start playing the lottery) I don't know why i do it to myself, i blame all you bloggers out there that give me style inspiration!

I love Asos but I'm sure I've said that before, I've decided this year I'm going to try and wear more skirts and dresses, I'm so used to wearing jeans I'm sure it will be a challenge but I'm ready for it!

I am loving these 70's inspired shoes from good old Dorothy Perkins

I would totally wear them with the pleated skirt and orange top Asos dress, can you see it?

Today i painted my nails this cool dark blue it's from the Boots No7 range called Betty Blues, not usually a fan of dark colours but i LOVE IT
I cooked a fab dinner (if i don't say so myself) sometimes i surprise myself lol

Stew Chicken
Rice and Peas
Honey Roasted Plantain
Cucumber
I've been reading Steve Harvey. Now I'm a single lady as we all know, i don't make it a habit to read relationship books this would be my first. What attracted me to this book is the fact its written by one of the kings of comedy so at least it would be humorous.

I read the first book already (Act like a Lady, Think like a Man) and it was funny and to the point! It does make a lot of sense to me but i do posses common sense and we all know its not common! He is very old school, he talks about waiting 90 days before you give up the cookie (as he puts it) and with a chapter named  "first things first: he wants to sleep with you" you know your in for some laughs! I think if there is something to this then maybe i might try finding love the Steve Harvey way and see how that works out for me! hmmmm to be continued.....

PLEASE EXCUSE MY ABSENCE...HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wow never good to disappear when you've just started but i have a valid reason, my laptop is effed! so plans of getting a new one haven't come to pass yet as i have too many financial commitments at the moment! i have been keeping up with blogs as best i can, i do plan to get my laptop at the end of this month so i have to steal   borrow my flatmates laptop for the mean time!

I hope everyone had and is having a good new year, I am hopeful for 2011 i feel bigger and better things are waiting for me, hope you all feel the same. My big motto this year has to be " finish what you start" i have a habit of not following through with plans and i did that in 2010. One of the things being not committing 100% to this blog which i plan to change.

So far this year i have bought a TV, booked a holiday to Budapest, tried a floatation tank (www.floatworks.com), and i still have to book my jewellery making workshop with Claire Aristides and book my taster lessons to do something creative at City Academy. I've even lost 5lbs just from eating more fresh fruit and vegetables, I'm eating better and enjoying it, told you I'm not playing! So this year people expect more photo's from me there's a lot going on!

Here are a couple of recent purchases, at the moment I'm have this thing for clog like shoes. The first is from Evans, i got it in the sale and i haven't had a chance to wear them out yet but i have been breaking them in (as you do) and the are soo comfortable which is a plus

Evans
The next pair are from Asos (of course) i got them on sale. I LOVE these but i know i won't wear them as much because they are a little high but dang they look good!

Asos

Hope everyone has a good weekend i plan to do nothing this weekend I'm gonna have the longest sleep ever! enjoy xoxo

Shhhhh The Clothes Have Spoken!

I think I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! For now I will have to admire these beauties from afar, the purse strings are closed tight until the new year! *sniff sniff*
P.s. Are the Asos Curve models looking smaller in size? I'm finding it hard to decide whether some of the outfits will do my body justice, or is it just me?

My Weekend and OOTD-Tesco Bandeau Skirt

Hey everyone, I've been slacking in the post department only because i have been working hard and when you have to be up at 3am everyday i am tired! i just didn't have the energy! Who knew it took so much energy to keep up with your blog, i now have a new found respect to all bloggers!

Anyway i had the weekend off and it was eventful but once again i left the house without the camera so i didn't get the pics! : ( I have to start getting in the habit of taking my camera everywhere i go!

Thursday night i went to the theatre for the first time time to see Avenue Q. It was enjoyable and it made me laugh especially the number "everyone's a little bit racist" yes very risky! I ended the night with some ice cream at the Haagan Daaz Cafe, there's something about ice cream in the winter that i like!

Friday night was down to china town for some bad Chinese, i ordered a beef dish and I'm still not sure it was beef i was eating! After we had a few cheap drinks at the Slug and Lettuce and was served drinks by the yummiest bartender ever! i will surely be going back just for him! We got talking to a couple of guys that made me feel super old as they were only 21! Then we headed to Metra. It was not as good as the last time, i think maybe too much thought had gone into it this time making it an average night!

Saturday night i went back to my favourite place Moonlighting. music was good but i just wasn't feeling the vibes! i think my going out bug has died! Its just the same old guys or shall i say beasts with no manners its just one big meat market! I wanna go out and meet my potential husband and i know that's not gonna happen there! i think i just want familiarity and i wanna feel comfortable not conscious of myself, its all so complicated!

Anyway onto better things! I thought i would do a quick outfit post with my new skirt from Tesco which was only £16, bargain! I love it, because the material is thick it hides a multitude of sins! The only thing is the shade of pink is darker than on the website.

I teamed it with my cage shoulder top from Asos and my Dorothy Perkin shoes. I look a little bit messy but i just could not be that bothered lol I give the skirt a thumbs up! What do you think?
